It depends on the crane you are considering. Also, will the truck the crane is mounted on be carrying a payload to the jobsite as well? How much does that payload weigh? The real answer to this question requires a weight distribution study to determine if the front or rear axles, or both, are sufficient for the crane you need and the job you want to do.
