The main differences between a truck knuckleboom and a marine knuckleboom crane are the components, parts, and design of the base. Because a marine crane is built to be installed on a flat surface or pedestal, its base differs from that of a truck crane, which is installed on two frame rails. Additionally, a truck crane’s base is built to flex with the truck’s frame. And finally, a truck crane has a set of stabilizers built into the crane’s base.

Other than the base, the cranes are identical.
